Jacob & Talor

Most of us will only be lucky enough to meet someone with a radiant light and generous spirit like Jacob’s once or twice throughout life. My memories of Jake all include him baking, dancing, laughing, and going out of his way to execute special gestures for the people he loved. He had a way of making the everyday feel extraordinary, and every person in his orbit feel cared for and special. I will never forget maybe the second or third time we met, I was spending the night at the West Seattle house he shared with Morgan and other roommates. We went out to the store for maybe 30 minutes to get some snacks, and when we returned the whole house smelled of fresh baked cookies. Like magic, there was a fresh cut flower arrangement and plate of warm rosemary sea salt chocolate chip cookies on the kitchen table, and Jake was asking what else he could do for us to make sure we had a great girls night. He was always checking on everyone else, serving, and taking care of others. He truly loved on people in a way I will always admire. This loss is crushing, but it is just like Jake that he so generously left us all with a huge, beautiful community that he and Daniel built, so that we can support each other.
