Jacob & Julia B.
I ran into Jake at the grocery store a few months before his passing. He was hauling a massive box of tomatoes in his arms. The minute he saw me, he cracked a big smile and was so excited to come say hi even though I’m sure his arms were about to fall off from carrying that box filled to the brim with tomatoes. We caught up for a few minutes and it ending with me promising to come visit him at the Howdy Bagel soon. The next week, I came in to grab a bagel and he asked if I’d rather take a half a dozen home. I walked out paying for a bagel and coffee and got 5 extra bagels for free. That’s who Jake was - one of the brightest, most generous and caring souls. He truly made everyone feel welcome in & outside of Howdy Bagel. Losing him to an act of violence is beyond comprehension. I’m comforted that he lives on in the legacy he left, in his loved ones and in all those his exuberant joy touched.
Rest in love, friend. Tacoma’s favorite cowboy is missed dearly🤍🌈🤠🥯
